Garden of Life Perfect Food Green Powder - Not Whey Protein Powder Is The Trick Green powder energy drinks that don't have to taste like lawn clippings. The secret to still drinking your favorite, healthy fruit smoothie, loaded with your favorite fruit? The secret to getting maximum efficiency and long lasting energy that does NOT lead to energy crashes shortly after their consumption? Balance. A term most experts including those who write smoothie books with all those pretty, glossy pictures, are completely BLIND to and is a Red-Flag that the author really is not an expert, nor does he or she actively participate in living healthy. Garden Life, Perfect Food is a high caliber option in a bottle that can lead to explosive energy in your fruit smoothie and vegetable juices - fresh from the juicer preferrably. |

Creating balance in your energy creation is vital. This is true of your fruit smoothies, yes, but all eating: what 's on your plate, or what's in your blender - at least if ENERGY is really what you are looking for. Look, I could stand behind you with a hot poker and stab you when you started to look tired and you'd perk right up, but just because it satifies your temporary need, does not mean you'd have any interest in it, despite how alert it makes you. You Want Healthy High Energy Foods? All living foods (unprocessed, straight from the earth foods: fruits and vegetables, seeds, legumes, grains) have energy. Bread does not. You don't see marathon runners downing a loaf of bread before the big race, do you? Certainly not if the objective is to win. Fruit has energy, some more than others, but in combination you could have TONS of energy, in fact too much, a complete overload, ironically. Establishing balance to create long lasting energy is as simple as adding an ingredient to slow down the fruits energy in your body. Don't see many experts telling you the way to get more energy is to actually cut back on the energy you consume do you? (Hmm...wonder why that is?). Where can you find such healthy, high energy foods? Green Drink Secrets What is the magic, missing ingredient? Vegetables. More specifically, and ideally, greens! And just to be on the safe side, let me state that adding vegetables to a fruit smoothie does NOT mean you will be tasting "lawn clippings" if you do it right. But, let's add something as simple and basic as celery juice. A green. (Spinach, or romaine lettuce might be too green for beginners). A few stalks of celery (juiced, not just stalks added to your blender) would create the kind of balance that on average, a fruit smoothie is completely void of. And better yet, it is an ingredient that blends well with most fruits, and you'll actually like the taste. After all, if it tastes horrible, no matter the benefit, 95% of folks won't stick with it. So, I'll only address healthy fruit smoothies that include greens, without sacrificing exceptional, go back for some more, flavor. Another easy fix is to buy a quality green powder., or powdered greens. Two, that I personally use in my smoothies (I add greens in one form or another to 90% of my own smoothies) are: Garden of Life's Perfect Food (about $50 for 30 servings) - (here's more of the Garden of Life product line) or sometimes I'll add straight Spirulina (preferred choice is Organic, Spirulina Pacifica from Nutrex, about 30 servings. Don't spend more than $15). You certainly can find each online, or at any established health food store. If you can't find either locally, a substitute could be Magma Plus made by Green Foods, again around $15, but in my opinion, definitely NOT nearly the same quality as my two favorites mentioned. Keep in mind if you are new to the green drink world of powdered greens and Garden of Life, start slow. Remember that it is better in the case of the spirulina and Magma Plus to buy a small bottle, rather than a big one. Especially with the spirulina, it goes a long way. Serving sizes are by teaspoons, not even tablespoons. And unless you heed my warnings, you'll realize you do not want to add two TABLE spoons of spirulina to damn near anything. Because, it's too much! By color and taste. Plus, although it is good for you, until your body is used to having such potent, energy-surging powdered greens (green powder) in it, it can do harm. With the Garden of Life Perfect Food green powder, you will use tablespoons. And you'll want about thirty servings. I refridgerate mine to add shelf life, but it is not necessary. Doing so, also compliments a cold beverage, versus a warm smoothie which is not my goal. What About Garden of Life Perfect Food Caps? Avoid the idea that capsules of green powder is the way to go. I know, it is an option offered, but realistically, if you want the benefit, follow my advice based on experience, daily living and never "theory". You'd have to consume handfuls to reach one serving size. You get a better result, and bang for your spending dollar going the powdered green route. Garden Life Perfect Food powder is only one choice of the many healthy high energy foods out there, but it s a favorite, indeed. Drink the powder (described above) rather than down handful after handful of the Garden of Life Perfect Food caps. |
